How to Embed a Video

Embedding a video onto your website is a great way to present information to users and increase engagement time on your website.
The best way to embed a video to your website is to add them to the media library.

First, ensure that the video has been closed captioned and is hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. Then follow the steps below.

Steps to embed a video on your website

  1. Log into your website with the appropriate editing permissions
  2. Go to the page you’d like to embed your video and either create a beyond basic block or enter your cursor into the body field of an established beyond basics block.
  3. Click the “insert from media library” button, indicated by the Media Library icon, to add your video. (The icon resembles a photograph connected to a musical note.)
  4. Choose the Web Video option under Add media, then add the Web Video URL in the field.
    [Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0CNK3eV1yA ]
  5. Click “Add”
  6. Click “Save and Insert”
  7. Then either “Add Block” or “Update” the block, and then click “Save layout” to view the changes and see your embedded video.
