Overview
We Love WWU Day falls in February, and is an opportunity for students and community members to express just why they love Western Washington University. The main festivities for this event happen in Red Square, where folks can write what they love about WWU on sticky notes and place them on a banner for public display.
The idea came up to have a digital version of this available, where folks could post notes online for this special day as well.
Goal
Create a light weight note board app with branding and custom styles, that had basic moderation capabilities.
Strategy
We used HTMX to build out the note posting and moderation features, and created a small standalone app. This app pulls in styles and components from Ashlar, which quickly creates a branded experience. Styles for the heart shaped notes, bulletin board, and animations were custom created. The application is hosted on CampusWeb, and has a CAS sign in for moderators to approve of notes on the back end before they appear publicly.

A fun and whimsical experience.
